Autonomous
Neighborhoods
Welcome to the Autonomous Neighborhood project. This site is a collective meeting place for students, researchers and organizations seeking to take part in the first phase of the Urbanism DAO project.
On this site you will find everything you need to stay updated, as well as the ability to contribute and take part in the work. We advise you to always move through this site to get your updated information, or when you are joining in on the creation.
Decentralized,
autonomous organization.
A city grows one building and one project at a time. Its sustainability is intimately linked with its ability to sustain change in a pattern that reflects the real and meaningful needs of its inhabitants.
This fall we will research the creation, utilization, and simulation of autonomous neighborhoods. Providing agency directly to citizens, through blockchain based, decentralized organization.
Together we will
Uncover: Urban Triggers
The foundational building block of the urbanism course provides a thorough introduction to the urban trigger method and its theoretical and practical implications for urban development.
Explore: Ethereum
Blockchain
The organizational structures will connect each student and participant with their own Non-Fungible Token within the Ethereum chain. This will hold the key to our joint exploration into decentralized agency.
Create: Future Visions
The course will explore imaginative narration and illustration, providing visions for how new structures of autonomous, citizen-based agency can structure the development and well-being of future cities.
